Stand Tall like The Burj Khalifa

 

 The Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and the Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, once said, "Our fear of failing should not prevent us from endeavouring to reach the summit". If we are confident in whatever we do and we put in the required work, we can reach the peak of our success. Dubai has become one of the richest and most popular cities in the entire world, thanks to the illustrious visionary, the father and former Ruler of the modern Emirate of Dubai, His Highness the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. The Burj Khalifa (برج خليفة "Tower of Khalifa" named after The President of UAE and the Ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan) happens to be one of the mega structures that have made Dubai Number 1, which is the wish of  H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. This is because Burj Khalifa is 828m tall, therefore it is currently the tallest building in the world. I urge you to keep this information in your mind as you go through the rest of this message.

Now to take you into the context of my message; we have many individuals amongst us, who are very shy, extreme introverts, and this makes them appear as if they are incompetent individuals and good for nothing. Most of these individuals have amazing talents which they can showcase to multitudes, but the barrier between them and their opportunities, is their lack of self confidence. The personification of the Burj Khalifa shows us how one can be confident and outstanding amongst others, just as how the Burj Khalifa stands out amongst all skyscrapers and other high-rise buildings in the Emirate of Dubai. As the tower was being constructed, engineers made sure the specifications were met with accuracy and precision, to avoid the possible distraction of the tower by external elements and forces. This means you should be confident in your strengths and you should work on your weaknesses, in order for you to stand tall like the Burj Khalifa, for a long period of time.

The following poem - titled 'Stand Tall like the Burj Khalifa' - is both my story and my encouragement to all those who need motivation in order for them to build their confidence and defeat their weakness. 

To all those who lack self-confidence,

To all those who need motivation,

You are searching for the best inspiration,

And I know your need is of utmost importance.

When I was young, I was shy.

I would always ask myself, but why?

It never ceased to hurt me,

How each time I would try, 

To unveil my true self, 

I failed to shine and I would cry.

Tears never solved the problem.

My colleagues were generally good orators

Because confidence was invested in them.

Peer pressure grew in me,

But it was sad for me to realize,

I just couldn't be like them.

However, it was time for me to shine. 

The past could not define my prime.

As the saying goes,

"Procrastination is the thief of time."

It also limits your progress,

So don't let it rob you of  your precious time.

I focused on growing my confidence and success.

I aimed for perfectness, 

And now I confidently lead many giants.

I may not be as tall as they are, 

But I stand tall like the Burj Khalifa!

You may not be physically tall,

But that should not make you psychologically small.

Be a confident Victor with an honourable caliber.

Arise from your slumber,

And STAND TALL LIKE THE BURJ KHALIFA!
