The Stepping Stone

As we are growing up, we face a number of challenges. Some are intense and some are easy to tackle. However, a challenge is a challenge. With a challenge, there are two possible outcomes, success or failure, and everyone under the sun has experienced the aftermath of each outcome.

Now, let me begin by defining the first outcome. Success is the accomplishment of an aim or a purpose (according to the New Oxford American Dictionary). As a young person, I sometimes ask myself, is money an authentic measurement of success? I know some of you are not going to like this answer; wealth (including money) is not the only measurement of success.
So how can I say I have succeeded and how can I measure my success? I have defined this outcome in order for us to answer a question of this nature. Before we begin the process that will lead us to success, we need to have an aim or a purpose (basically something that needs to be achieved). For example, I can aim: to be part of my national team for sport, to visit every continent in one year, to make 10 dollars every day, to buy designer clothes for my bae, to catch a bird or to reduce my inner circle of friends. If I am going to say at the end of a process, I have accomplished one or all of these aims, then I have succeeded👍.
However success isn't just a walk in the park. The reason why success is very special, is the fact that the process isn't easy. We will look at it in detail post our analysis of the next outcome.

Let us move on to the second outcome. Failure is the deficiency of a desirable outcome (basically the lack of success). When many wealthy individuals share their stories, their common narrative begins with their humble backgrounds in which they were very poor and they conclude by saying they are now successful because they are rich. Firstly, poverty isn't failure, but it can be a consequence of failure. Not all wealthy individuals are successful. That is why many of them have lost their wealth. They have failed to keep the wealth for a long period of time because they failed to acquire the wealth in the right manner.

Failure is part of a success story. How?
Well, look at it this way, if you fail, you will learn from your mistake(s)/failure(s) and you will definitely avoid them when you try again. This is when the concept of the 'stepping stones' comes into existence. The process is never going to be easy but at the end you will succeed. We usually take note of risks before we involve ourselves in productive activities, but we have to understand that the greater the risks is, the greater the chances of you failing, but the success will be of a great standard don't aim to avoid failure; aim to overcome it, with DISCIPLINE.
We need stepping stones in our journey called life, otherwise if we stay on flat ground, we'll never climb up to reach our desired destination, the ultimate success.

STAY SAFE, BE DISCIPLINED AND WORK SMART IN LIFE
